Specificity of the Park
Terrestrial National Park and Special Reserve, dense humid forest with a very high rate of endemism including thousands of species of precious wood (Dalbergia chlorocarpa and Canarium madagascariensis) … which make Amber Mountain a true crucible of biological diversities grouped in a small, relatively easy access area.
How to get there
Antananarivo – Ambondromamy (410Km) on the RN4, turn right on the RN6 to Antanamitarana (777Km). Antanamitarana – Amber Mountain National Park 30km.
* The Montagne d’Ambre National Park is located 37km from Antsiranana.
Antsiranana – Joffreville: 34 km and Joffreville – Park: 3 km, secondary road.
Geography
An average of 2,978 mm of rainfall. An aquatic ecosystem made up of five (05) crater lakes, from which very dense networks of watercourses in the extreme north area start.
Area
23,010 Ha of which 18,200Ha for the Amber Mountain National Park and 4,810 Ha for the Amber Forest Special Reserve.
